Custom-made cryogenic Econtras® removable insulation mattresses are designed to protect equipment that requires regular service or maintenance. These components need a removable and reusable cryogenic insulation solution for insulating parts such as valves and flanges. These components are often difficult to insulate, and permanent insulation is frequently damaged, removed, or left unreplaced.
Econtras® designs and produces flexible, removable, and reusable insulation mattresses for nearly any surface.
The cryogenic insulation mattresses are made from a vapor-tight, non-combustible insulating material and a cryogenic, vapor-sealed filling that resists moisture intrusion, UV radiation, and wear. Depending on customer preference or application, the cryogenic insulation mattresses are secured with Velcro closures and/or straps with buckles.
Design and filling depend on the specific application.
Commonly used in LNG shipping systems, gas storage tanks, and loading or unloading systems.
Corrosion under insulation (CUI) occurs when trapped water causes metal components to corrode beneath the insulation layer. This can be caused by condensation due to ineffective insulation or by water leakage. Econtras® mattresses help prevent CUI by fitting tightly around your components to avoid condensation. If water does enter the insulation, our mattresses are produced using premium materials, such as PTFE-based technical fabrics. In addition, Econtras® removable insulation blankets can be easily removed for routine inspection of the piping system.
Econtras® mattresses are designed to be easily removed and reinstalled, ensuring efficient use without interfering with routine maintenance. Our quality mattresses are made from high-grade technical fabrics and secured using Velcro or straps with stainless steel buckles and/or D-rings. This ensures the mattresses stay in place while remaining easy to remove.
Our mattresses are made with premium materials, including technical fabrics made from PTFE. We use heat-resistant thread and PTFE Teflon antistatic materials to ensure the mattresses withstand both low and high temperatures. For insulation, we use fully hydrophobic Cryogel Z, injected PUR foam, or cryogenic fibers.
All components are assembled in our workshop into a vapor-tight insulation jacket, ensuring the inner insulation is well integrated into the outer shell. The result is a durable, high-performance insulation jacket that fits precisely and withstands extreme temperatures without compromising quality or functionality.
